

Safeguarding Adults (SOVA) Training
Course Overview:
This half-day training course introduces the principles of safeguarding, recognising signs of abuse, and how to report concerns. It is essential for all care, healthcare, and support staff. Staff will be able to act appropriately to protect vulnerable adults, ensuring the organisation upholds its duty of care and complies with safeguarding frameworks.
Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
🎯Understand the key principles of safeguarding adults, including the importance of promoting well-being, preventing abuse, and empowering individuals.
🎯Recognise the various types of abuse that adults may experience, including physical, emotional, financial, sexual, neglect, and institutional abuse.
🎯Identify the signs and indicators of abuse, including how to differentiate between normal behaviours and those that may signal abuse.
🎯Understand the legal frameworks surrounding safeguarding adults, including the Care Act 2014, Safeguarding Adults Boards (SABs), and other relevant legislation.
🎯Understand the roles and responsibilities of staff and agencies involved in safeguarding adults at risk.
🎯Learn how to effectively report concerns of abuse or neglect, including how to document incidents and follow safeguarding procedures.
