Service Description

This Medication Train the Trainer course is designed to provide your team with the essential knowledge, skills, and resources needed to confidently deliver Medication Administration training within your organisation. Tailored for professionals in the health and social care sector, it is particularly suited to both residential and domiciliary care services, ensuring staff are fully prepared to meet sector standards and best practice requirements. By the end of this Medication Administration Train the Trainer course, participants will be able to: 1. Identify and explain the three main classifications of medicines (GSL, P, POM) with at least one example of each. 2. Summarise the key requirements of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and Human Medicines Regulations 2012, showing how they apply to safe medication practice. 3. Describe the professional roles and responsibilities in medication administration, including adherence to procedures and reporting protocols, with reference to workplace practice. 4. Demonstrate correct use of the 5 Rights of administration in a simulated scenario. 5. Understand how to safely store and dispose of medicines in line with policy and legislation. 6. Be able to accurately complete a medication record and explain the importance of information sharing within the care team. 7. Explain how CQC standards relate to medication administration and trainer responsibilities. 8. Explore various teaching methods to deliver engaging and inclusive training. 9. Understand different learning styles and how to adapt training to meet them. 10. Examine how individuals learn and retain information for effective knowledge transfer. 11. Develop skills in giving and receiving feedback to support continuous improvement. 12. Learn best practices for presenting information clearly and confidently. 13. Identify the ‘do’s and don’ts’ when delivering training to maintain professionalism and impact. 14. Create structured lesson plans that align with learning objectives. 15. Apply reflective practice to improve training delivery. 16. Prepare effectively to deliver a training session with confidence and clarity.
