Fire Warden Training

Course Overview:

The Fire Warden Training course equips designated staff with the knowledge and skills to take on the responsibilities of a Fire Warden or Fire Marshal in the workplace. The training covers fire safety legislation, the role of a Fire Warden, fire prevention strategies, and emergency response procedures. Participants will learn how to lead evacuations, carry out fire safety checks, and support the development and maintenance of a fire-safe environment in line with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

🎯Explain the role and responsibilities of a Fire Warden/Fire Marshal in maintaining workplace fire safety.

🎯Interpret the key requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and other relevant fire safety legislation.

🎯Identify common workplace fire hazards and assess the associated risks to staff, service users, and visitors.

🎯Be able to apply fire prevention strategies and safe working practices to minimise fire risks.

🎯Recognise the different classes of fire and select the correct extinguisher type for each, including the safe operating procedure.

🎯Be able to lead a safe and orderly evacuation during fire drills and emergency situations, including assisting individuals with mobility or sensory impairments.

🎯Carry out routine fire safety inspections, including checks on escape routes, signage, fire doors, and extinguishers.

🎯Be able to maintain accurate fire safety records, drill logs, and inspection reports in compliance with workplace policy.

🎯Understand how to communicate effectively with colleagues, management, and emergency services during fire-related incidents.

🎯Know how to promote fire safety awareness among staff and service users to create a proactive safety culture within the workplace.
